Submarine gate (tunnel gate)
Advantages : Gate marks are less prominent.
・The lack of any gate residue eliminates the need for post-finishing.
- All-automatic molding is possible as the runner and product are automatically cut.
Disadvantages : Gate dimensions tend to vary.
・A lower product wall thickness may render the product prone to chipping from the bottom of the gate.
・Mold price increases.

Inclination angle with PL plane (b) .. 45 to 65º
Gate diameter .. 0.8~2.0mm

・Multi-point gates are available to facilitate product filling.
・A small gate diameter means little residual stress around the gate.
Disadvantages : The small gate diameter increases injection pressure.
・Runner loss increases.
・Mold price increases.
