Gas release
When designing molds, the key to reducing problems (scorching, poor filling, poor mold release, noticeable welds) is how to vent gas effectively.
Gas vents must be provided at the flow ends of the resin (welds, bosses, ribs, and parting lines) as a general rule.
Degassing is performed via a slit that allows only volatile gas to pass through but prevents any inflow of resin (the depth varies depending on the distance from the gate, but the approximate depth is 3/100mm for areas close to the gate and 5/100mm for areas far from the gate).
Numerous such slits are normally included.
The width should be 5 to 10 mm and the depth should be about 0.5 to 1 mm to relative to the outside of the mold.
