What causes silver streaks?
Silver streaks can appear on the surface of injection-molded products for various reasons.
- Residual moisture due to insufficient drying of pellets
- Air entrapment in the molding machine and mold
These are typical causes of silver streaks. Please refer to the " Silver Streaks " section on the "Troubleshooting Guide" page for causes and solutions. If you are unable to resolve the issue after referring to the check items in the troubleshooting guide, please contact our sales department. Drying conditions vary depending on the grade type. Drying conditions for each grade are listed under injection molding conditions on the product information page. Please download the documents to view them. Also, if different materials such as PP or PS are mixed in during molding, surface defects similar to silver may occur.
