About Resin Properties
What is the molding shrinkage rate for ABS?
Generally, for ABS it is 0.4 to 0.6%, and for AS it is 0.2 to 0.5%.
If the resin contains reinforcing fillers such as glass fiber, the shrinkage rate will be smaller depending on the filler content, but the orientation of the reinforcing material will increase the anisotropic effect of the resin flow direction.
In actual molding, shrinkage varies from part to part and from section to section due to various factors, so in any case it is necessary to make adjustments by actually making a prototype.
You can check the standard mold shrinkage rate for each major grade using the grade search system on this website.
